Accessibility Statement
ScholarSafe is working to make its website and services accessible to people with disabilities. We use WCAG 2.1 Level AA as a technical reference and continue to improve accessibility through testing and remediation. We do not claim full conformance with WCAG 2.1 AA, ADA, or any other accessibility standard.
What we've done
We run automated accessibility scans (axe-core) against our critical pages — homepage, signup, login, listings, roommates, profile, account deletion, messaging, and our legal/safety pages — as part of our regression testing, and we fix issues those scans surface, along with issues found during manual review of page structure, form labels, and color contrast.
Known limitations
- Automated scanning cannot verify screen-reader behavior — full manual testing with NVDA, VoiceOver, or Orca has not been completed on every page.
- Keyboard-only navigation and focus management have not been manually verified on every workflow.
- Some third-party embedded content (e.g. map tiles) may not meet the same standard we hold our own code to.
See our verification standards page and our full internal audit for the current state of this work.
Alternative access
If you encounter an accessibility barrier using ScholarSafe, contact accessibility@scholarsafe.com, and we will make reasonable efforts to provide assistance or an alternative method of access. This address is monitored for ScholarSafe pilot requests. Response times may vary based on the nature and complexity of the request.
